Home security cameras
I think a few of us (ejhartman, corey, tylersucks, wilkins, me) have some sort of setup. I bought the $20 Wyze came when it came out like 6 months ago. It's a generic cheap Chinese camera, but Wyze build an app around it and added some nice features. They came out with v2 and I got one of those last week.
I have one inside and one outside by the front door. They are more toys than real security measures. Wyze is mostly local storage, but does do 14 second cloud saving when motion/sound is detected. People online love the app TinyCam Pro, and I got them working with that last night, but I'm not sure I see the benefit of it other than TinyCam shows a live feed of multiple cameras at once, the Wyze app only does 1 feed at a time when you click into the camera.

Re: Home security cameras
Corey, do you leave your outside lights on at night? I replaced my 3 outdoor bulbs with 75w equivalent LED bulbs over the weekend.
Lights off. IR on

Lights on. IR off

Lights on. IR on

Unfortunately the IR auto mode doesn't go to off when the lights are on outside. It may be from the sensor being covered or it looks past the overhead lights into the darkest and determines IR needs to be on.

I leave our lights off outside. If the garage door is open or one of the other exterior doors open, the appropriate lights come on if it is after sunset (and turn off after a set amount of time).

Wow...house of the future. So basically when you open a door to let Kirby out it turns on and then off X minutes after being closed? Almost like a motion light....Corey wrote:I leave our lights off outside. I've use it for hyperlapse and watching out dogs while gone too
And she's a little girl who sings songs that's on the Ellen show a lot. Her family has a youtube channel as well- Claire and the Crosby's. Dave Crosby is one of the owners of Wyze

You have to turn off night vision for that since its pointing through glass?

my brother Brian, leaves in Denver, installed a home security system since he had some trouble with people taking outdoor furniture in front porch area & shoes out of garage.
kinda of surprised since they live in a nice area.
Re: Home security cameras
Shoes out of the garage? Why not tools or something worth more? Does he leave the garage door open a lot?

With TinyCam Pro you can view Wyzecams in browser.

nice. Will do
Re: Home security cameras
Let's see how long this holds up. I should probably put some kind of lid or roof on it

Re: Home security cameras
Think this would work if I put it on the shed roof and then camera hooked up to it?
