Swing Set

Postby Tyler » Mon May 07, 2018 7:43 am

We want to get Evie a swing set this summer. Her birthday is in August, so it would be an early gift. Hopefully have it done by the time Jocelyn finishes work in late May.

Pasting some links here for my own benefit more than anything.

Option 1 - $370, little upstairs area but picnic teable
Walmart

Option 2 - $500, enclosed areas
Walmart
Lowe's, price match? I have 10% off coupon

I think so too. Will probably go to Lowe's tomorrow and try to price match/order.

This was ordered the other day. I'm in a spending spree for the back yard.

Question, do I cut down this "tree" to make room for the swing set? It was once a tree that was cut off and now it's like 6 trees growing from the ground.

I'm with Kyle. Just cut back those little offshoots and trim some of the lower branches to make it look like a tree again.

And obviously use the wood from trimming it to make a tree house in it.

You tree loving hippies. You can't see in the pic, but the old truck goes up about 2 feet and is broken off. The old trunk is a lot thicker than the new trunks shooting up. I'll try trimming though just to make you guys happy. I think that would be prime swing set real estate though!

Dropping off Friday. I had to call and ask for an update and then Lowe's gave me the number to a local freight place. The place has had it for a couple days it sounds like and never called me to set up a time. I could have had it sooner if they would have called.

I'll force myself to finish shingling/painting the shed before I start on the swing set. Doubt I get it done this weekend since we have a grad party and Jocelyn leaves Sunday for a 5 day conference. Should probably have family time before she leaves.

What better way to spend time as a family than to put together a swing set.

Shouldn't swing sets have swings?
