Dropmix - card DJ game

Postby Tyler » Thu Jul 05, 2018 8:05 pm

Picked this up today. Normally $100, marked down to $30. It's fun, but I would be upset with paying $100. $30 seems right. The competitive modes that score base nothing on musical talent, but rather matching and strategy. There is a freestyle mode to just make music though.

The game came with 60 cards for singing, drums, guitar, piano. The songs are all well known and it does an impressive job of blending everything together. I ordered a booster pack to get a few more cards, but won't be trying to collect them all since they don't change the game all that much.

The tech behind the game is magically. The board pairs to a tablet and runs the game. The board knows what card is placed and by who. It also knows all the cards placed on top of it. The cards are the thickness of playing cards so no clue how the sensors are hidden.

Tablet is paired to my surround sound in the picture. Image

I modified the game to play podcast snippest instead of beats and lyrics.

Corey actually liked this game, and he doesn't like ANY boardgames. We played 3 rounds of boys vs girls. Boys won 2. Girls sacrificed a couple turns it was really fun watching how that played out.
