bmyoungs joined us for the VR viewing. We now have 4 weekly regulars.

Episode continues the bad streak. It has now been 3 episodes since we have seen Negan/Gabby resolution (looks like it happens next week) and 3 episodes since seeing Carl, Michonne, Rosita, etc.

I've never really been a fan of the King, so all of this *emotional* stuff around his fell flat for me, it also didn't help that jokes were constantly being made at his expense. It makes no sense that the tiger had to die. It was horrible staging to make the King appeared trapped and that was the only way he could be saved. We later saw him walking on his own, but he couldn't climb up a slight incline with the help of a 300lb Jerry? A lot of people on Reddit said they cried for Shiva. Wut?

The Rick/Daryl car chase was dumb, but at least entertaining. It's been awhile since the show has actually felt fun to me. It was also lucky that Rick's Jeep was bullet proof against a .50 cal machine gun other than the one that hit the engine block...but didn't slow it down?

I still wish we understand everything that was going on and the timeline. They wanted to bring the machine gun to the compound, but isnt that already overrun by zombies? Too little too late?

Is it even worth mentioning Carol's story? Yes, because it was one of the dumbest things from the episode. She was above them in the ceiling and to their sides, but she was somehow able to shoot them at eye level from the front.

I feel like we didn't really miss anything vital though, other than Carol somehow getting a guy at knife point, but then it turned into a shootout that didn't matter.

That was pretty funny.
Carol is unarmed and surrendering
*video freezes for a few seconds*
Carol has a guy held at knife point*
*video freezes a few more seconds*
The guy is dead, Carol has a gun and is in a shootout situation

I want to know if Wilkins can explain what happened here. My podcast guys watched the episode at least 2 times (and didn't have a buffer issue), but they were still dumbfounded how Carol was able to be unarmed and someone grab a guy and hold him hostage.

It sounds like the Savior with the glasses was a real hoot and nothing he said ever made sense. I think we missed some of this because of jokes we were saying.
