But the human eye can only see... ;)

I just have a 60hz. I don't know what I'm missing.

Yeah, but that could be for the best. 60 FPS still looks quite good to me so I'm not as spoiled as I could be whew man, playing Breath of the Wild did not feel good at times with its 30 FPS cap and frequent drops below that.

Upgraded from 970 to rx580 8gb OC and my passmark improved from 3334 to 4829.

Time spy went from 3546 to 4079. Need to do one more run after I did a driver update

Time Spy - 4,520
Mine actually went down a bit. I use to overclock with MSI afterburner, but I have just been running stock lately.

OC the CPU a bit. Okay, a lot 4 to 4.5ghz. I thought the score would go up more. Must have best VR experience with Rift S comes out. I am a full 1k+ over stock speeds now. It does feel like a furnace under my desk though, which I guess means the fans are doing a good job of getting the heat out of the case.

I am responsible for talking 3 people on the forum (wags, tylersucks, corey) into upgrading their GTX 970 to GTX 980ti. I did the same upgrade about 18 months ago and appreciated the boost. The 980ti is nearly 5 years old now, but it can be overclocked to run as fast as the GTX 1080.

I of course got a better deal when I bought mine new for $200 vs their factory refurbished for $200.

I didn't passmark my old server as far as I can remember.

New build is Ryzen 5 3600 and x570 mobo, with 36GB 3600 DDR4. P2000 Graphics card for transcoding.

Can't run over Remote desktop apparently and too much of a pain to get a spare monitor for now. Maybe some other time.

Marginal overall gains since same GPU, but CPU score is more than double.

Server (new) - 2,500
Ryzen 5 3600 - 6,110
GTX 1050ti
16gb RAM
