Still going strong. Played for about 3 hours in the sculpture garden last night. hatched 9 eggs at the same time with a lucky egg. got a machop and a sandshrew from that haul. Hit level 23.

Yeah the internet is freaking out about this one. they all but removed the ability to track pokemon. You can just now see what is within ~3 miles of you (who knows if that is right though, they don't say anything). And now you can't even go to one of the websites that show you where the damned thing actually is. Was it cheating? Yes. But now it's almost impossible to track pokemon down. It would have been one thing to fix the tracking and have the sites go down, but now everyone is flying by the seats of their pants. It's really upsetting to see the pokeman name shit on so much.

That sucks. They should make a version of Pokemon Go where you can move your character on the screen without having to walk in the physical world. Some kind of directional pad or something that allows you to travel through the map looking for pokemon.

My bad for not checking out the article. I see now it isn't a Yahoo article, it was just them sharing an Uproxx piece.

I think it's safe to assume anything not from "The Onion" is not satire.

There were a couple more stupid news stories about dumb people playing this dumb game.

One was a couple who left their 2 year old at home for almost 2 hours while they went out to catch Pokemon. The kid was standing in the front yard crying and the cops came and had to call the parents to come home.

The other was something about people setting up tents at a veteran's memorial because it was a Pokemon hot spot and getting in fights with the vets. I think there is a video of that somewhere but I haven't seen it.

What is wrong with people? How would anything think this is okay? Even if the kid was napping they both shouldn't have left the house. They are so lucky the child didn't venture out of the yard.

It's even worse than I thought. It happened in Arizona, the kid was outside without water while it was 90 degrees out.

When told his son had been found abandoned, he allegedly replied "whatever" and hung up.

Wow...
And the door was unlocked, poor kid didn't know how to get back inside.

I wish there was some way that could prevent you from having children if you don't want them or can't take care of them...

Pokemon Go Dev Responds to Update Criticisms
Niantic explains the controverial changes it has made to Pokemon Go.
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/pokemo ... 05-10aaa0a

In a post on the official Pokemon Go Facebook page, Niantic said the 3-Step display, which was designed to give players a vague indication of how close a specific Pokemon was, had to be removed "in order to improve the underlying design."

"The original feature, although enjoyed by many, was also confusing and did not meet our underlying product goals," it continued. "We will keep you posted as we strive to improve this feature."

It was not confusing.

They are dumb.

They really need to get a new system in and fast. I didn't find it to be a huge deal because I would just sit under lures all day, but people in the 'burbs are missing it a lot.

In the past two days, I've missed Omastar, Lickitung, Magmar, Vulpix, Kingler, and several Dratinis because of the lack of tracking (in app and via 3rd party sites). If they don't fix this in the next week, they're gonna lose a lot more players.
