Superhot - neat FPS

Postby Tyler » Sat Jun 18, 2016 10:26 pm

Very unique FPS that I picked up awhile ago on sale and just played it for the first time. The main mechanic is time slows way down when you stop moving, but you can still look around/aim without causing time to start.

The story within the game is also interesting. You are on your DOS like computer and your friend IMs you a message about this cracked game called Superhot.exe. You can explore around the old looking computer menus and uncover some easter eggs. I assume the company you are hacking are going to be unhappy about you stealing their game.

So, they released this for VR awhile ago, but only for the Oculus. They recently released it for the Vive. I ended up buying it so friends who visited could play. They loved it. Then Kayla played it, and she said she felt like a total BAMF. It would be so much better with a constant time replay (Which they lack and haven't mentioned adding, to my knowledge), but it is still pretty awesome. VR FPS is >>>>>>>>> than Keyboard/Mouse FPS. #FalloutVR

This is on sale for $19 for VR. Since no one is willing to buy VR games and share them with me I'll probably pick it up for myself before the sale ends.

Well you have an unlimited video game budget, so it's fair.

I thought i complained to you earlier that we don't family share. Maybe not, but if you want, we can get this set up. I just found another fun game I'll post about before I go to bed.

I bought it. My parents are in town tonight and I think my dad will get a kick out of it.

I wasn't expecting the game to have completely different levels than the original, but it makes sense. In the desktop game you can move through the levels. Superhot VR has no locomotion/teleporting. You can move around your physical play space though to dodge bullets.

Donomoto's wife was right, you feel REALLY cool playing this game. Holding a gun, realizing you're out of ammo, throw the gun at an enemy, kill him, grab his falling gun out of the air, turn around and get another kill.

To Wagner's point about the graphics, I don't think they matter. Sure, they aren't life like, but they are the size of humans and move like humans. I thought the whole experience was immersive and I'm excited to play more.

Played some more in VR tonight. It feels amazing when you throw a bottle at a guy and catch his gun in the air. Frustrating at times too because you need to pass 3-5 stages before you hit a save point.

Everyone with a headset should be playing this game and using it to show off VR to friends.

This, Gorn, and Job Simulator/Rick and Morty VR are my go to games for showing off VR.

I beat the game today and unlucked the level select. When you beat the game there are like 7 floppy disks on the desk, I'm not sure what they all do since I only put in the one that said SUPER HOT and it was the level selector.

I played this game the other week or sometime and it was pretty fun. It was really fun to dodge the bullets that the red guys are sending your way.
