Inside - video game from the makers of Limbo

Postby Tyler » Sat Jul 09, 2016 10:52 am

Just came out on PC and Xbox. Extremely high scores. I will probably buy this and take a break from Doom to play it.

Ori and the Blind Forest is still a higher rated platformer at 97%. This is 95%.

Limbo and Inside are both 3.5-4 hours. I should play Limbo again...

Ori is 8-10 hours.

Wilkins, how is this? As neat as Limbo was the first time you played it? Just as puzzle based?

I think this was better than limbo. I never beat limbo because I got bored. I beat this game in three sittings. The puzzles are really fun and they do cool things with lighting. The game is much more detailed and pretty than limbo as well.

I have to say that not one piece of dialogue is either written or spoken either, and it completely works.

That's Limbo like too.

Did you have to look up any puzzles solutions on youtube?

Three times. Once because I couldn't get my controls to get me across a ledge, so I thought I was doing it wrong

I bought this for Wilkins so he had something to do on the couch during his recovery. He then shared it with Tylersucks and me on Steam because we are family members :liar:

I played 20 minutes or so. The game doesn't just remind me of Limbo, it is Limbo with a different backdrop. I am really liking it though. The first stage in the forest was intense when dogs/bad guys starting chasing you. I've been able to figure out all the puzzles on my own so far. I love the character animations and art. Even though the game is a platformer, there seems to be so much depth in the world and the boy moves very life like.

I completed this over the weekend too. Thanks Chris and Tyler. I did have to look up 2 or 3 puzzles, and of course it was like "duh" when I saw the solutions. Its over quick. Not sure it is longer than Limbo. I never got all the way thru Limbo. I was a lot more interested in the Inside story than the Limbo story. Cant wait to see what they do next.

Very solid game. I especially liked the episodes that dealt with lighting. Very cool

Played another 20 minutes or so last night. I am so proud of myself whenever I get a puzzle solved, I always think to myself smugly "Wilkins and Bryan probably had to look this up on Youtube"

I was getting hung up on a puzzle yesterday because it included a trap door and I kept trying to figure out how it was used to solve the puzzle. Turns out I didn't need to use the door at all and I was making it more complicated for myself.

Between Ghost in the Shell and this game I had a strange day. I successfully beat the game without looking anything up on youtube. Once I turned into the blob I couldn't stop playing until I reached the end, but the ending was lackluster.

I need to read this later
Inside’s Ending Explained: Our Theory On the Limbo Sequel’s Brain-Bending Conclusion

In the end I thought INSIDE was easier than Limbo, or maybe I just gave up easier in Limbo.

Until I read that above article, I am going to favor Limbo's ending

I'm curious what ones you needed to look up. Link the youtube tutorial on them

The one with the room with the box where you can control the water levels. Idk why I didn't get it. The other one was just one where you had to swing from a rope through a door further up. I couldn't get on it, so I looked it up, but was doing it right

You didn't get it becasue water was on the ceiling. It was a tricky concept. I struggled with that one until I went left and got the box.

The swinging one was a challenge too. I didn't think I could get the timing right
