Battlefront 2 for PS2 was a fun game. Battlefront for PS4 was pretty lackluster.

Loved the Battlefront games on the original Xbox. I've played a little bit of Battlefront for Xbone but not enough to judge it. I've heard it's not as fun though.

I was soooo disappointed in this game. I had asked for it for Christmas. The game looked stunning, absolutely incredible. In past iterations of this game, there was a lengthy solo campaign. But this one had nearly nothing, so you were forced to go online to do multiplayer battles. For those of us who didn't want to do multiplayer and spend the money for Xbox Gold, you were left with a game that basically useless. Looked amazing but you were bored with it within a few minutes. I'll wait for Battlefront 2.

I saw that. What was the exact context? Something about buying Vader?

Let me go devil's advocate even though I'm not a fan of this structure.

Let's look at this game 6 months from now. Base game is now discounted so a wave of new players comes in. The core players have a six month head start so in multiplayer they are almost unbeatable by these new players. As a casual gamer this is always extremely discouraging. I gave up on destiny 1 for this very reason.

If I enjoyed the game, and my friends all played I would consider paying to improve my experience.

Is EA becoming extremely greedy with their practices, absolutely. But is this completely anti consumer? No.

I'd rather play a great game for a long time than always get new average games for $60/year like cod or every sports game ever.

No idea. Never even considered getting the game. Just a random thought I had and didn't feel like paying on Reddit

I didn't realize they also locked down the characters under the same upgrade system as perks. Not did I see anything about the time frame for unlocking said characters. Now it all seems like a more appropriate reaction.

I saw EA removed the refund button from their customer portal. Great damage control...

Reminds me of when No Man's Sky had Steam stop anyone from refunding their game :snooty:
