Spent 15 minutes in this last night finding my house. There is no way to type an address (that I could see) so you have to explore the world to find things. I could see this being huge in education.

Hard to show off the 3D in a flat image

It's free, you don't need his permission!

It's worth flying around the world a couple times for sure.

It was really fun to have our family friend who is teaching over in Japan show us where she was staying. It's cool to just see all of the architectural differences in different parts of the world. Who needs to go out of the country to see exotic things anymore?

I didn't realize this last night since I was playing alone, but this doesn't support 2nd screen viewing. People watching on the TV only see the Google Earth VR splash screen. Big missed opportunity for classroom stuff

Tyler and I used teamwork to find John form S Town's maze in the game! We are real neat.

And not a single person here knows what you are talking about...

I talked to my neighbor last night who built the VR cart for his school. He agreed. He had such high hopes for Google Earth in the classroom but it's not going to be as useful as he hoped.

Update on this. We used this app a few times over the weekend (Tylersucks's daughter and Huss Buss). Both times we could see what they saw on the TV. I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong before or if an update added 2nd screen support.

Street view added this week and human scale. Human scale let's you feel more like Superman when you fly around

I haven't tried either of these, but VR podcast said to load up the app to try them. Human scale is in settings. Street view will be an option when it is available.

Tried both new features last night. Street view doesn't let you walk down the street but it is still impressive. It's not a 3D render like the other view, but instead an HD photo. It was pretty impressive actually.

Human scale is really cool if you want to experience the size of things. It was a lot more fun flying around with that checked on.

I did try the street view and that was kinda neat. We previewed some places that we'll be going in Germany. I don't think I had human scale on, at least I didn't notice anything different about flying around.

No point in even taking the vacation now, you experienced it all!

Human scale is off unless you dig for it and turn it on.
