Oculus VR announces Oculus GO, a standalone VR gadget for $199
I knew this product was coming but I still think it's a weird move. This is basically for people who want the smartphone VR experience (Google Daydream or GearVR), but do not own a smartphone that works on those viewers. It has limited head tracking and no hand. I guess it would be good to consume media

People got hands on with it yesterday at GDC and everyone seemed pretty impressed with it. It sounds dumb, but I would consider this just for watching Big screen with you guys. Worth $200? Probably not, but maybe if resolution is higher, plus being able to sit anywhere.

Got around to watching this today while Evie napped. Lighter, better lenses, and better screen. I am probably going to be buying this for watching movies/tv shows. I also read that they are somehow allowing you to use a USB stick. Not being able to lean forward/back in BigScreen isn't a huge deal, but not having full control of hands will be somewhat boring, but not a deal breaker since you can still do the laser pointer.
Still curious what battery life will be. It needs to be at least 3+ hours.

Rumor is this comes out May 1st for at least preorders during the Facebook Developer Conference. With all of the bad FB press I'm hoping they launch it early somehow just in case the conference is a shiatshow
