HTC Announces Vive Pro and Vive Wireless Adapters

Postby Tyler » Mon Jan 08, 2018 9:56 am

This was published on a Dutch site and then quickly taken down. People think they posted it too early and got in trouble.

1440x1600 per eye
New valve lenses
Improved headstrap & comfort
Integrated audio
Lighthouse 2.0
Knuckles Controllers
Wireless add-on option later on.

No word on price.

This looks so bulky. They are calling this a 1.5 version, but Vive 2.0

The VR podcast I listen to has 4 hosts. 3 of the sold their Vives when they caught wind of the Pro model coming out Q1. They wanted to sell before the market was flooded with used ones.

Turns out HTC is ONLY releasing the headset Q1, with the full bundle coming Q3ish. LOL at the hosts selling all their stuff and screwing themselves. They had heard $349 for just the headset, which is actually way less than I would have guessed.

Rumor/leak is $800. Not sure if that's just the headset or whole unit late this year

Vive Pro Headset Pre-orders Open at $800 for April 5th Launch, Original Vive Drops to $500

Entire bundle could be 1,200

Keep in mind this has the same screen as the $450 complete package Samsung Windows one.

HTC removed the Facebook announcement for the Vive Pro because of all the angry faces after announcing faces. Last I saw the Youtube video promoting it too was downvoted by like 98% of the people who voted.

JK, it's $1,400. $1,250 was for 1st gen controllers and tracking stations. It's $1,400 to get new of everything
