Star Trek Bridge Crew - VR

Postby Tyler » Sun Aug 19, 2018 10:20 pm

I've been wanting to try this for awhile, and pulled the trigger when it was $14. This game was $50 about 9 months ago.

Played an hour tonight. 30 mins was the tutorial to learn the 4 roles. I did a quick match with 3 random guys that lasted about 30. We easily beat it, but we had a very experienced captain.

I'm excited to play again....hopefully with people from here.

I dont care about star trek at all. Luckily with this game you don't have to be a fan of the show to enjoy the game.

Was it too easy? Or would you have failed it if everyone in the crew was a n00b?

It would have been a shitshow if it was 4 of us playing. I think we would have passed this particular mission though.

Played with a really fun group tonight. They helped me with the other roles and didn't yell at me when we died and it was 100% my fault. Some roles are more fun than others. I've played them all now but captain

I think of the 6 people I have played with they have all been on PSVR

Made bennyschup play tonight. He skipped the tutorial and we did a mission together where we swapped between the 4 roles and I explained each to him. We failed when we blew up a ship and it exploded into us.

Later we played the same mission with 2 random and we beat it. Benny wasn't even the worst one on the team, but he has the worse role for that level.

I'm really liking it. I played captain twice and that was fun for me.

I was going to at least try the tutorial last night but I was too tired and it got too late before I was ready.

I had my longest VR session ever. Benny and I played for 3.5 hours tonight. Wilkins joined in after we were about an hour in. Time flies by in that game. Most missions are 20-30 minutes, but I didn't realize how many we were playing.

We played with a random 4th player. I think on most missions it would be best to play 3 and just have captain double up as engineer, but the missions tonight actually required some engineering and repairing.

We got soooo close 2 times on a hard mission.
Random captain: We did it! Let's warp out of here and we win
Me: Wut? We have warp at 0%
Everyone: NOO!!!!!
*blow up*

Then we made it to the end but Benny had to turn the ship 90% and we had 0 shield and 3% hull.

Great VR night!

We found out Bridge Crew can't be shared and that is required Uplay. The friend system in game is Uplay (and why I couldn't find wilkins to add on Friday night). I think you can log into my dad's steam account though and then play with your own Uplay account.

Idk, maybe I'll run through the tutorial tonight. I was going to yesterday but then was too lazy to put in my contacts.

If that's your attitude maybe we don't want you on the team!

If you want to skip the tutorial we can do a game and just jump around the roles and teach you that way. It worked for Benny.

Got Wags into the game last night. We had 15 minute of technical problems and in the end Wagner was using his webcam mic, not Rift. I think we all had fun though. We stuck to the easy prologue and and first mission. We passed both of them with ease, but did really well I thought. 3 is a good number of players on missions you don't need to be constantly repairing/rerouting power.

It's easy enough to alternate helm/engineer or captain/engineer for these easy missions.

It was a good time. I can see it getting pretty crazy on more difficult missions.
