It Takes Two - Co-op

Game that requires 2 players. It's free to share over Steam, which is cool. Jocelyn and I did it split screen for a couple of hours and Evie watched. The game is very whimsical and fun (even though the story is about divorce). 3D puzzle platformer.

I am only posting here because Brad and Sarah would enjoy it a lot and it is on sale

Note: It is 50gb, that surprised me.

Must be on sale! It's $40 normally. Get it.

Unravel 2 is on GamePass. That is another coop platform puzzler, but I think that is just 2D?

This game is made by the same people. I think I posted about here before. Jocelyn and I played the first half. Another game you must play together as coop. It Takes Two is more entertaining though.

I think we have about 5 hours logged in this game. We only play it when Evie can watch. The 3 of us are having a blast with it. The world is so fun.

The puzzles are easy to moderate in difficulty. We haven't had to look any solutions up and have never been stuck for more than 5 minutes.

Jocelyn and my favorite co-op gaming experience together was Super Mario 3D World on the Wii U. I have a lot of good memories playing that with her and 3 star-ing all of the levels.

It is probably recency bias, but we think this is our new favorite game. Each level is so different and introduces fun new mechanics.

Played a part last night where the game turned into a top down dungeon crawler where you use a single view be split screen. As usual, the gameplay completely changed for 30 minutes.

I played with marshall today and it's a really fun mix of puzzle solving and platforming. I'll try to play with Sarah since marshall can't do some of the harder tricks

We are slooooooowly getting through this game. We took a long break in tbe fall and played an hour over the weekend. I know we are nearly done and that makes me sad.

‘It Takes Two’ Developer Hazelight Studios Teams With dj2 Entertainment to Adapt Game for Film, TV

Before you get too exited. From Reddit:
Oh look it's dj2 entertainment again. Over the past decade they've announced adaptations of Hawken, Sleeping Dogs, Ruiner, Little Nightmares, Vampyr, My Friend Pedro, Disco Elysium, Life is Strange and more - none of which have made any progress.

The story is the least interesting part of the game. The story is actually bad at times. I feel like no one is making any growth and the poor girl is being tortured by the thought her parents are brain dead.

A lot would have to change to make this game work as a movie.

It's been a journey, but we finally finished this game. Evie and Oliver have been enjoying it (we got past the horrific parts) so we have been playing a bit in the evenings before bedtime.

Gameplay - 10/10
Fun - 10/10
Art style (in the miniature world) - 10/10
Story - 6/10
Art in the real world - 5/10

What a great game. The story was the worst part, but the gameplay and always changing mechanics kept everything else so good. By the end of the game I didn't feel like the 2 leads were redeemable, but they forced in a dramatic song and they fell back in love. It maybe would have been better if they continued with their divorce but were civil about it.
