The Handmaid’s Tale sequel “The Testaments” television series being developed by Hulu & MGM

The sequel book comes out in 5 days. Takes place 15 years after the events of the first book. It might also be written 15 years later?

Wouldn't a sequel to a current running show spoil said show? I think it will have different characters, but it will spoil the state of the country
