Better Call Saul - Season 1 and 2

Postby awright » Wed Sep 11, 2013 9:17 pm

Looks like the rumored spin-off series starring the character Saul Goodman is a confirmed go according to The Hollywood Reporter!

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-f ... ard-627406" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Generally spin-offs don't fare very well but with Breaking Bad's creator Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, the creater of the character, on board this prequel could be promising. I think we all get the feeling from BB that Saul has had his fair share of shady dealings in the past that would make some entertaining stories (nothing that compares to BB given his reactions to some of events but still)

I have hopes. Gilligan said on the nerdist a couple weeks ago he would only do it if it was done right. Sounds like he will just help get it started tho then he will leave the project to Peter Gould.

I guess the article talks about this
The series is expected to star Bob Odenkirk, who has played Saul for several seasons, with writer-producer Peter Gould set to run the effort, as it was Gould who created the character back in season two. Bad creator Vince Gilligan, who conceived of the spinoff with Gould, will remain involved

I think it could turn out pretty well. Like you said, his character seems to be the kind of guy who would be involved in some entertaining situations.

This is going to be a dark drama, not a comedy. Huh...

Edit: this is a bad link about the story. I'll try to find a better one later

We’ve been in the dark about Better Call Saul for a while now, but that’s about to change. AMC announced today that the Breaking Bad prequel will premiere on Sunday, February 8 at 10 p.m. The second episode will then air the next day, Monday, February 9, at 10 p.m. The show will then continue to air on Mondays at 10 p.m. The timing couldn’t be better. It avoids any confusion with the BCS title game, and it'll give you something to talk about with your loved one at yet another Valentine's Day dinner.

I like the TV spots that have been airing during TWD. Really liked the one with Mike as a parking lot guard

I watched. It started pretty slow but left with a cliff hanger. I'll keep watching.

Better call it a hit: AMC’s Better Call Saul debuted Sunday with a bang, generating the biggest premiere ratings ever for a cable series among the advertiser-coveted demo of adult viewers under 50. Taking full advantage of a typically massive lead-in from The Walking Dead and brushing off competition from the Grammys on CBS, Saul notched a 3.4 rating in the younger demo, which translates to 4.4 million viewers under 50. That’s nearly a million more than watched the previous record-holder — the 2004 launch of HBO’s Deadwood, which opened to 3.7 million younger viewers (thanks to a lead-in from The Sopranos).

Sunday was only an hour and 15 minutes but i'm already hooked.

Tuco Saltamacia (sp) is back! This show is great!!

watching episode 2 now.

It got higher ratings than Breaking Bad (hard to believe for me) but I really like it.
