How often do you ride bike? Would you ride more often if you didn't hate the bike?
Not sure if I'd blindly buy a $300 bike no matter how good a deal it is. Too much of a risk that you'd hate that too.

In the 30 minutes that I've posted that I've basically talked myself out of it.
I almost never ride my current bike. I should give that an honest try this summer before I buy anything new, but it is too big. No way should you and I be riding the same sized bike.

True. I should try it before buying it, but the main 2 things I dislike about my current bike are the handlebars and height.
..and it's only $225 for my bike.... Did I just talk myself into it again!?

How tall is the one we bought? Pretty sure that bike was just garbage ergonomically as it was uncomfortable for me too.

I don't know enough about bicycle brands to know if that's a super good deal or not. Erin and I each have a Nishiki hybrid but I don't remember the model name. I've had it going on 5 years now with a pretty good amount of miles.
Edit: I think I paid around $360 for my bike in 2012. I think that's closer to the low end of the price spectrum.

Re: Nice weather and biking
My bike is a nashbar and I like it a lot. Mine was $800 but has a full carbon fiber frame. With nashbar, it is more important to look at the components on the bike to see if it is a good deal. I got midrange components with full carbon fiber which would be at least $1,500 from one of the big name brands.

Pic of bike. I didn't know you had an $800 bike! When did you get that? Is it in this thread if I scroll up?
Yep. You talked about it like 3 years ago. Worth the investment? Pic!

Is that even legal?!
How tall are you?
Did you get that because it's cheaper/bigger?
Did Corey make you buy it?
Now I want it more!
Nice weather and biking
Barely legal. I'm 5'9" but I have a 35" inseam which is much longer than most people my height. I'm a bit worried it may be too short. Corey definitely made me do it! We'll see! It was just so much cheaper than anything I've been looking at. It may be shit but we bought it with our amex which gives us returns of we want

I saw on the site they offer returns, but it sounds complicated for a bike. Good call on AmEx making that easier.
I might pull the trigger tomorrow, at least for myself. I'm going to ask a co-worker what they think first.

TODAY IS THE LAST DEAL DAY! Comments say 30% isn't uncommon and comes up a few times a year, I might be waiting.

Sweetness. If you earned $25 for every hour you biked, have you paid it off?
Re: Nice weather and biking
My coworker said that looks like a good deal, but told me to check out this site. He has a super fancy road bike, but bought this specific one just for dragging the kids around

He also offered to sell me his kid trailer

I bought my bike at Dick's when they were having a sale. It made it easier to decide being able to test out and compare different models. Not sure if you have a local bike shop that carries similar brands/sizes to try out before getting the discount online?

For sure. We have Scheel's and Dick's around here. Should at least go sit on some bikes before ordering anything.
The impulse buy of a bike has also calmed down in the past couple of days.
