Dang these numbers are all so crazy. I heard David Letterman and Shonda Rhimes are coming over to Netflix, so those will have big salaries alone. How do they make enough money?!

Wow. That's like a 10-15% tax!

I guess I never thought about how they are missing out on tax revenue from Blockbuster sales...
$1 is almost no money. I don't think I would throw up a hissy fit if this ended up hitting me. We definitely get more value than $12/mo (I don't even know how much it is) out of Netflix.

Um... Netflix > HBO... HBO started the TV renaissance, but Netflix has kicked it into high gear. For every Game of Thrones, HBO has Leftovers... yeah... Leftovers is bad. Netflix has very few misses, along with the wide open creativity.
Re: Netflix News
LOL. Netflix original content does not beat out HBO. There is nothing on Netflix that I would say is at the same caliber as most HBO shows. S01 of Daredevil or OitNB, but both of those were guilty of filler.

Okay... Shows like Game of Thrones, The Wire, and The Sopranos are untouchable. People put them in random order of their top 3 shows of all time just depending on the person, but they typically are the top 3 shows on any list of any site. But after the final season of Game of Thrones... what do they have? Westworld? okay. I guess my point is that going forward, from this moment on... Netflix has better shows or should I say the higher number of quality shows are on Netflix. I think HBO is losing out because other networks are following in their footsteps. HBO turned down The Walking Dead... how cool would that show have been on HBO... probably wouldn't be the chit show is today. Do not get me wrong, I love HBO. But the investment in shows to watch are on Netflix right now. Stranger Things, the OA, OITNB, House of Cards, Ozark, the Marvel Television Universe, Narcos, the Santa Clarita Diet, the Ranch. It seems like every month there is a new outstanding show dropping on Netflix, while we wait the 2 years for the final season of Game of Thrones.

Netflix is raising its prices for US subscribers
The standard tier, which allows subscribers to watch on two screens at once, will be bumped up from $9.99 to $10.99 per month. The premium tier, which is available in Ultra HD and allows users to watch on up to four screens, will go up from $11.99 to $13.99. The Basic $7.99 per month plan will remain the same.
I doubt anyone here is on the "basic" plan
