This is the kind of game I would get excited about playing together.

Played a bit of this just now. I can see it being really fun with the full game. I was pretty OK with the locomotion in the game, didn't make me dizzy or anything.

You did the full joystick with smooth or snap turning?

There seems to be a lot going on in the game. Space battles, repair the ship, fight the aliens that board. Did you do single or co-op? I jumped into a random co-op game and no one was talking.

I did full joystick with I guess snap turning? I didn't know there was an option for smooth, but I'm not sure I would have chosen that.

I just did single. I only made it to the 2nd base/mission and got blown up by pirates because I had 2 transmissions come in at the same time and couldn't go back to my guns in time. But yeah, there's a lot to do. Plus you gotta worry about your crew and keeping them alive.

I think the smooth turning is what made me feel uneasy, I'll do snap next time a game offers it

Is this a game you would buy? It will likely be $30-40. I didn't play the beta enough to be sold on anything so I will pass, unless everyone buys it and it's our new go to game. Max 3 players I think tho?

I thought it was fun. I should have played co-op to get more of a feel for how that would be. If others wanted to, I probably would. I might get it for the single player anyway.

I feel like the multiplayer on this would be a much more exciting version of the Star Trek game you wanted us all to get.

I agree about the star trek comparison.

Is there a story mode? Or is it just a set of random encounters?

It seems like it's all random. As far as I can tell, the overall goal is the same: get back to Earth. But how you get there, where you stop, and who/what you encounter seems to be random.
