Hart is hit or miss for me in most of his movies and he was on his way of becoming an Adam Sandler (not a compliment). I thought he was really funny in this and kept his Kevin Hart screaming to the right amount.

you have good point about that. his screaming is an issue at times.

Jumanji to become Sony's highest US Box Office performer outside of Spiderman franchise
Jumanji is on pace to surpass everything else Sony has ever released in the US (with the lone exception of their Spiderman franchise).

It's also amazing how low Sony's original expectations were for Jumanji (Sony expected it to open at $45 million over 6 days), but it came in over $70 million in its first 6 days and has posted some of the most incredible holds we'll ever see.

Now, it's posting a $36 million 3rd weekend (down only 27%) and should surpass $250 million before next weekend.

It's now on pace to get past Skyfall's $304 million in the next 3 weeks to become Sony's highest non-Spiderman movie in the US/Canada. It even has a chance to surpass Spiderman: Homecoming's $334 million take in the US. That's perhaps the most stunning way to consider Jumanji's box office performance.

Not bad for a franchise reboot modestly budgeted at $100 million. This should be a lesson to everyone (including Sony) for how to manage a franchise reboot.

Erin and I went to this last night. It was a fun movie. Jack Black as a teenage girl was the funniest part.

I liked this movie a lot. Took my kids over the weekend. There were several more penis jokes than I would've liked. Made it a little awkward when my girls had to ask me 'What handle??"

It's shocking Jumanji did as well as it did against Last Jedi, but I have to believe the next SW will be even bigger since it's closing the new trilogy. This seems cocky and not smart.

Not everything needs a sequel. I enjoyed Jumanji, but they didn't leave it open to a sequel so any follow up movie seems like it will probably be a forced cash grab.

Once again Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle retakes #1 in its seventh week with $11M, the first December release to be #1 in February since Titanic in 1998.

Sequel coming
The Rock via social media:
It’s official: Last night you made JUMANJI, Sony’s biggest movie ever.
EVER.
Previous record held by SpiderMan.
My #1 goal is always giving the audience what they want and always sending ya home happy. Working on the sequel now, so bye bye @kevinhart4real’s character.
Love y’all and THANK YOU.

What will a sequel even look like? Someone else plays the videogame and there is a new level?
