Kristen Wiig will play a villain in the next “Wonder Woman” film.

Director Patty Jenkins announced on Twitter Friday that Wiig will star as Wonder Woman rival Cheetah in the superhero sequel.

Jenkins said in her post that she “can’t wait to finally work with one of my favorites” and is very excited by what they have planned.

Star Gal Gadot welcomed Wiig to the cast in a follow-up post and added, “This is going to be WONDERful.”

I'm sure I'll be proven wrong, but Wiig doesn't exactly scream action villain to me.

Yeah, it's hard to imagine her in that kind of role. I like her though so I hope it works.

This seems like a lot of money, but I have no idea what a director makes on a typical summer blockbuster. Good for Patty regardless

Wonder Woman 84 moved from Nov 1, 2019 to June 5, 2020.
The sequel, which is set in 1984, replaces Mark Wahlberg’s “Six Billion Dollar Man,” which has been taken off the schedule.

Warner Bros. President of Domestic Distribution Jeff Goldstein said, “We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did. This move lands the film exactly where it belongs.”

LOL at pushing it back 7 months being a positive thing.
