Looking for local co-op PC games

Postby Tyler » Wed Apr 25, 2018 7:00 am

Jocelyn and I loved playing Super Mario 3D World when we got the Wii U 3+ years ago. We almost 3-starred every level/bonus level. I kind of forgot about it until we took out the Wii U over the weekend again.

I'm looking to replicate this local co-op gameplay, but on PC/Steam Link. Overcooked is very different than Super Mario, but that is another game we enjoy playing. I was thinking a Lego game might scratch this itch.

Danny, I know you and Mario play Lego games. What is your favorite? I imagine they aren't super challenging?

Some other ideas are:
Cuphead - I assume Jocelyn will hate it
Rayman Legends
BattleBlock Theater
Castle Crashers we have tried too. It was okay.

Yes, me and Mario...

My favorite was Lego Marvel Super Heroes. You really can't go wrong with them after like the first Harry Potter one. I don't recommend lego dimensions, while fun at first the continual changing of avatars is rather annoying.

Lol @ typo.

Super Hero marvel is actually the one I was eyeing! Thanks! I think they have a new one for infinity war too?

There's one that covers the Avenger movies, and there's Super Heroes 2 which I haven't played yet.

We have gotten quite a few of the Lego Lord of the Rigns games that we haven't touched.

I grabbed this yesterday since it was $3. I doubt it will ever see the light of day: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2499 ... r_Edition/

That looks cool, but would get an instant no because of the theme.

We love overcooked, but we only have super stressful/hard levels left. Like 3 of them. One of them we've spend like 4 hours on alone.

Yes. There is a sequel than came out a few months ago. Picked up Marvel Super Heroes for $5ish. It is one of the highest rated Lego games on Steam. Going to make Jocelyn play it tonight.

Can't believe the number of characters in this game. We have only done 2/250 levels. How can their be 250?! That would be a 100+ hour game and internet says it's 12

The game turned into kind of open world at one point. Wasn't expecting that. We played maybe 3ish hours and it felt like 60 minutes.

The combat isn't hard, but some of the puzzle levels made us think. It seems like the game never has you backtracking so we need to realize if we make it to a room that the tools needed to get beyond the room are in there.

A) all LEGO games are pretty much the same. If you like this one, then you don’t need to play any others unless you really like the setting (Harry Potter, dc, Star Wars, etc...)

I noticed a lot of the story missions had aspects to them that needed special characters that we didn't have by default. I doubt we go back and replay missions with unlocked characters, but instead just play an entirely new lego game once we beat it.

We have 3 levels left of Lego Marvel Superheroes, so between 1.5-2 hours.

We will end the game with like 15% complete I bet since we haven't been looking for hidden things at all.

Cdkeys.com has it on sale for $17. Tempting.

Maybe we will try to beat Marvel this week. My previous post was wrong about levels left and time spent.
