Asgard's Wrath - VR
Asgard's Wrath - VR
Mostly made this thread for Wags, who already knows about the game thanks to this article: Asgard’s Wrath Is A 30+ Hour Norse-Inspired Action RPG Rift Exclusive, Coming 2019
Throughout the 30+ hour adventure you’ll frequently swap back and forth between the perspectives of a towering God with an epic sense of scale and the perspective of on-the-ground mortal warriors to take advantage of the game’s brutal melee combat.
Anyways... This is what Oculus has been demoing the Rift S with at a couple of conventions this month and people are loving it. Standing in 2+ hour lines just to play a few minutes. I'll get it free with my Rift S luckily.

Let's assume you won't. I am sure they offer multiple locomotion options for baby VR legs.
Asgard's Wrath - VR
Out Thursday. I think you can start downloading the game tomorrow sometime since it is so large compared to most VR games.
I assume no one here is buying day 1? I could see myself getting it based on reviews. I just dont know if I have time for a game like this.

I won't buy day 1, no. I'll likely get it eventually, but I'm waiting for my shit to get set up in the basement first.

I'm gonna have to pick this up and actually play VR. Maybe after next week.

You can afford a $40 game?!

That's my hesitation. I haven't spent that much on a game since RDR2 came out. And before that....I don't know when!

The Oculus Refund program works just like Steam's. Buy the game and if you don't play that much in the first 2 weeks, just return it.
I'll likely get it as well, but I have some current VR games I want to play first. 30+ hours sounds very intimating to me for a VR game. 5-10 hours is kind of my sweet spot for story driven games.
Asgard's Wrath - VR
They released the game 3 hours early today and Reddit agrees it's the best looking and playing VR game ever. Guess I am going to get it and start playing it ASAP.

Did you end up getting it and giving it a go yet? I'm visiting my buddy and will finally get to try out his Index. I haven't bought a VR game in awhile, and have been looking for one. I get to try out my buddy's Index finally, and might just have to test it out with this. Reviews said it played pretty well with Revive on the Index.

I haven't bought it yet, but I know I will. I was just reading positive reviews on it this morning again on Metacritic.
I kind of want to wait for the Link cable so I can play on my Quest or try it wirelessly on quest. Or I just do the easiest thing and play it on Rift S right now.
Very jealous you get to try an Index. Does your friend own this game already?

I don't think he owns it, but if it is as good as it looks, I don't think it would be hard to convince him to get it. I was reading it kinda sucks to play on the Vive because of the controller mapping, so I'm not sure I'd get it yet.

Well yeah. Vive wands are the worst controllers in VR. lol.
Re: Asgard's Wrath - VR
Stormlands comes out on the 14, which is the other tentpole VR game this year. I think Asgard looks more interesting, but I'll wait for reviews to see which one is the "better" game.
